Well, the folks at Repair the World® want to make sure the social, economic, and environmental options of future generations are not limited by the choices we make today. Plus, by keeping abreast of Fair Trade discussions about garment standards, we can make sure we’re in the forefront of socially responsible businesses.
Our high quality Repair The World® brand apparel is an expression of this desire to be sustainable -- by being kinder to the earth and using renewable resources. Our clothing is made from combinations of pre- and post-consumer recycled fibers such as recycled cotton (that doesn’t have to be discarded or thrown away) and recycled polyester (from plastic bottles – yes, that’s right, plastic bottles!) provide you with comfortable, sustainable apparel.
Why is using sustainable materials important? Because it’s in keeping with our efforts towards a social responsibility that helps individuals and organizations have a positive impact on communities, business and society.
And part of that social responsibility means that we take a triple bottom line approach to our business, when many others focus only on profits.
Committing to a 3BL approach means that we focus our company energy on people, profits, and the planet.
People - Improving lives by providing opportunities for sustainable self-direction and employment.
Profits – Our goal in creating Repair The World® is to make a profit on our apparel so that we can support people and communities in need.
Planet –We want to be smart about the way we use the world’s resources, and not use them up or damage them!
We feel that companies can make a difference by adopting a culture of social responsibility and a triple bottom line approach.
